Armchair candidates abound this time of year.  One blogger has suggested that the candidates avoid using the term “bankruptcy”.

For those people who appear on CNN and have ongoing publishing deals, bankruptcy may still be equated with financial failure.  For the rest of us, bankruptcy may be your only option to stop a pending foreclosure or eliminate medical bills that you cannot pay.

If “successful” people such as Henry Ford and Donald Trump have filed bankruptcy, why should the rest of us hesitate to do so?  If “famous” people such as Mozart and Rembrandt have asked for protection from their creditors, why should we be ashamed to make the same request?
