The “B” Word

There are a number of words that we don’t want our children to say.  There are a number of words that we don’t want our politicians to say, such as “entitlement” and “government spending”.  We may also want to include “bankruptcy” in the no-say zone, since that word continues to have negative connotations in our society.

Millions of people file bankruptcy each year.  Each case is unique.  Each debtor has a different reason for filing.  But there is one common denominator in pretty much every case: fear.  Fear of losing your property or fear of bills that you cannot pay.

Very few things can overcome fear.  Bankruptcy can overcome fear by eliminating both harassment and debt.  As soon as your petition is filed, you get instant relief from foreclosures, lawsuits, and the like.  It is a violation of federal law for a creditor to take any action against you while your bankruptcy is pending.  But there is more good news.  After the bankruptcy is over, most or all of your remaining unsecured debts will be discharged.

The best way to get rid of weeds is to pull them up by the roots.  Bankruptcy eliminates the root of your fears, which are those unpaid debts.  To get a head start on your financial future, call the law office of Henley and Henley for your free consultation.
